Description
"Hostetter Tract, Tract No. 6783 in Los Angeles City," ca. 1920s. The map shows an area from Hollenbeck Avenue (now 8th Street) on the north to Alosta Street (now Pico Boulevard) and the Union Pacific Railroad tracks to the south and from Rio Vista Avenue on the west to Lorena Street on the east. Ninth Street, now Olympic Boulevard, runs through the center of the tract with many small lots along it and the streets immediately parallel. There are also small lots along Soto Street and Boyle Avenue to the northwest, while larger lots are found east of Orme Avenue and below Olympic, presumably for industrial or commercial purposed, though an athletic field is indicated in one large lot. Many streets are oriented differently and/or have different names now. With folds and some creases, but generally clean, the condition of the map is good.
