Description
A stereoscopic photograph of the Hotel Alvarado, Los Angeles, 11 September 1927. Taken from across Sixth Street next to Westlake Park, the view captures most of one side, a corner, and a portion of the front facade of the three-story Moorish style complex, which has been demolished. Sections of the two streets, on which are a motorcyclist and streetcar tracks, and palm trees in front of the structure are also of note. An ink inscription on the reverse reads: "Hotel Alvarado / Cor 6th & Alvardo Sts. / Los Angeles / Sun. Sept. 11-1927." With some light soiling, minor edge abrasion and browning on the reverse, the condition is good.
