Description

Color: Blue; Gold "House and Gardens Book of Houses," by Richardson Wright (New York: Conde Nast & Company, 1920), 110 pp. The artifact has a blue hard-cover with the title at the top of the center in blue lettering within a gold rectangle. The title is also in gold along the spine. At the beginning is a title page, a list of other publications by the company, a table of contents, and a foreword. There are many subjects covered that deal with architectural details such as front entrances; windows; lattices; fireplaces; stairs; beams; wall finishes; and floors. Also included are floor plans for homes like cottages and Norman-English farmhouses, as well as for garages. There are also many black and white interior and exterior photographs. At the back is a list of architects and decorators. With abrasions; creases on the pages; dents on the cover; fading of the gold lettering; and light stains on the back cover, the object is in good condition overall.
