Color: Gold; Green "House and Gardens Second Book of Gardens," by Richardson Wright (New York: Conde Nast & Company, 1927), 223 pp. The book has a green hard-cover with a double-line border. The title is at the center within a gold circle, and around this are many gold three-leaf branches with the title also in gold along the spine. At the beginning of the inside is a title page and a table of contents. The first section is a portfolio of gardens of varying sizes and styles from around the country and the world. Other sections cover the cultivation and use of borders; roses; rock gardens and rock plants; wild gardens; pools and brookside gardens; bulb gardens; trees and shrubs; garden furnishings; gardens in special places like the seaside and the shade; and a gardener's calendar. There are many black and white photographs and drawings included. At the back is a list of landscape architects, schools and flower societies, and gardening books. With abrasions; dents; fading of the gold lettering; stains; and tears on the cover fabric, the object is in fair condition.
