Description

Color: Black; White; Yellow "House Comfort that Pays for Itself," issued by the Wood Conversion Company, ca. 1920s. The 31-page booklet has a white paper cover with a yellow shield at center. On top of the shield is the logo of Weyerhaeuser Forest Products. Below this is the title and a brief explanation about the contents. At center is, "Balsam-Wool / The True Insulation that Tucks In." At the bottom is the name and address of the issuing company, and a drawing of a man installing the insulation into a wall. On the back is the name of the company, the products it manufactures, and a list of branch offices. There is much information provided about Balsam-Wool, including reasons why every home should be heat insulated; how insulation pays for itself; and the ideal qualities of Balsam-Wool. Many black and white illustrations and photographs with yellow tint are included. With abrasions; creases; and small stains and tears, the artifact is in overall good condition.
