Color: Black; White
A black and white photograph of a house on North Griffin Avenue in Los Angeles, May 15, 1924. The one-story bungalow is at the center and is raised above street level. It is flanked by other single-family homes, all having lush front yards, and it shares a stairway that leads to the street below with the house on the left. Only part of Griffin Ave., which appears to be unpaved, is visible, although street car tracks are clearly discerable on its surface. In the background, behind the structures, is a grassy hillside at the top of which is an advertisement for "SAVAGE TIRES." The street address and date are written in green ink at the bottom center and bottom right corner. Remnants of black paper are adhered to all corners of the back indicating that the image was once in an album. Written on a white label at the top of the back is "3514 / N. Griffin Avenue / Los Angeles 1920's." The home is the same pictured on item .3. The artifact is in good condition with slight yellowing of the paper, a pencil mark and a stamped number on the back.
