HOUSING ON NORTH GRIFFIN AVENUE IN LOS ANGELES
Color: Black; White
A black and white photograph of housing on North Griffin Avenue in Los Angeles, 1924. At the back, from left to right, are three one-story bungalow-style homes raised above street level. To the left on North Griffin Ave. located below is a steam-powered hydraulic shovel. Two men, most likely construction workers, stand near the front of the machine. A truck is parked at the far right. An unpaved road runs from North Griffin to the foreground. Standing to the right of the foregound is a girl who looks toward the construction activity. Written in pencil on the bottom left corner is "3514 N. Griffin Ave.," and on the right corner is "Spring - 1924." Remnants of black paper are adhered at the center and all corners of the back indicating that the image was once in an album. A white label on the top of the back reads "02683 / N. Griffin Avenue / Los Angeles 1924." The homes are the same pictured in item .4. With a light crease across the center and slight yellowing of the paper, the artifact is in good condition.
