Description

Color: Black; White RPPC - A black and white postcard of the interior of a mission building, ca. 1920s. The brick floor of the long room is at the center of the bottom. Against the wall on the left are several pieces of furniture which are in disrepair. The items include a small table with a chipped front right leg; a dresser which has bricks in the place of the front left leg; and carved wood panels. Against the right wall lean several frames and boards, all in poor condition. In front of the wall at the back are several boards, beams, and wood easels. All the walls are stained and cracked. Along the top is the wood roof which has horizontal beams. Much of the wood is corroded, broken, or chipped. Printed at the bottom left corner is the number, "10." At the top of the back is, "POST CARD / CORRESPONDENCE / ADDRESS." At the right corner is a square box which is outlined with the letters," A Z O." At the middle of the square are the words, "PLACE / STAMP / HERE." The photograph was housed in Agnes Temple's album which is item 96.7.94.1 along with many other photographs which span 96.7.1.1-.93.1. Contact sheets 2000.159.1.1-.8 show the original positioning of the images within the album. With warping, stains, and surface soiling, the artifact is in poor condition.
