The view is of a curly-headed child wearing a white dress with puffed sleeves with the background blacked out. Irene Memmler, whose name is written as "cousin Ireme Memmler" on the reverse, lived in Altadena with her family, was born in 1900 or 1901, hence the estimated date. With edge rubbing, the item is in good condition.
