Color: Black; Green; Yellow
A catalog issued by J. E. Bolles Iron and Wire Works, 1915. The 247-page artifact has a green soft cover with a green border on the front, within which are embossed green letters with the title of the company at the top; a description of what it produced within an embossed box, featuring the company logo, at the center; the catalog number and date below the box; and the city of business of the company at the bottom. The company name is on the spine, as well. After the title page, which has an engraving of the company plant at the center, there are pages with descriptions of the terms of sale, the engineering department and department managers and superintendents and portraits of the Founder and President, J. E. Bolles and Vice-President and General Manager J. B. Mansfield. After a photograph of company employees around a banquet table with a description of their loyal service, the listing of product offerings includes gates; doors; grilles; elevator parts; enclosures; door hangers; dumb waiters; marquees and porticoes; office and bank railings; screens and partitions; fences; turnstiles; plaques and signs; window guards; railings; hinges; letters; electric lamps; iron stairs; fire escapes; manhole covers; benches and others. Most products are illustrated with photos or drawings and there is an index. While the pages are good, the cover has yellow chalk inscriptions, reading "#4" in two places on the front and there are stains, small tears, creases and wear, so the artifact is in fair condition.Lexicon
