Description

Coin Purse: A painted and embossed leather coin purse, manufactured in Japan, with a metal catch. The purse has images of faces, resembling painted theatrical faces, and landscaping that are somewhat obscured because of heavily faded red and green paint. These images are on the outside surface and half of the inside under the flap. Underneath the flap and the inside portion of the purse are plain leather. In fair condition with general wear and a portion of the purse has come loose on the right edge. Donated by George Wheatley. Embossed with "Japan" on the inside of the flap. Part of the metal catch has the initial "I.S." on it.
