Description

Color: Black; White A copy of a black and white photoengraving with duplicate of John H. Temple, ca. 1918. Temple is shown in a head-and-torso view, wearing a dark suit jacket and vest; white shirt; and bow tie. He also has two small pins in his left lapen. The gray-haired brother of Walter P. Temple also has a full handlebar mustache. The engraving process is especially noticeable on the suit and the lines created from the process. This image of Temple appeared in John Steven McGroarty's 1921 history of the southern California area. On the reverse of both copies is, in black ink by a former museum curator, the inscription "John H. Temple / Source - Workman and Temple Homestead / (gift of [donor's name withheld])." With little indication of wear or damage, the object is in good condition. Number-Units: 2
