Description

JOHN H. TEMPLE FUNERAL, CASKET CARRIED INTO EL CAMPO SANTO CEMETERY Color: Black; White A photograph of the casket being carried into El Campo Santo Cemetery for the funeral of John H. Temple, April 1926. The image is taken from the driveway immediately outside the entrance, through which the pallbearers are moving. At foreground right, Walter Temple is walking, presumably towards a car to escort the widow, Anita Davoust Temple, into the cemetery (see 48.6) At the left is the open doors of the back of the hearse which carried to casket to the cemetery. At the center of the reverse is a stamp reading "WEBBS / APR 14 1926 / SAN JOSE," the date referring to the processing date. At the bottom right corner is the stamped number "30." Preprinted at several locations on the reverse is the brand name "VELOX" referring to Kodak paper. With some light discoloration and surface soiling, the overall condition is good. Number-Units: 1
