Description

JOHN H. TEMPLE FUNERAL, CASKET CARRIED TOWARD MAUSOLEUM Color: Black; White A photograph of the casket being carried toward the Walter P. Temple Memorial Mausoleum in El Campo Santo Cemetery for the funeral of John H. Temple, April 1926. The image is taken from the grass or sidewalk just north of the main sidewalk leading from the cemetery entrance, at right, toward the mausoleum. The six pallbearers, all or nearly all sons of the deceased, wear white gloves and carry the casket, which has a floral spray on it. Behind them are mourners, including Walter P. Temple at the far right, who is escorting the widow, Anita Davoust Temple. Some of the grass and plantings at the west end of the cemetery are at the lower right and the left. At the center of the reverse is a stamp which reads "WEBBS / APRIL 14 1926 / SAN JOSE," the date referring to the processing date. At the bottom right corner is the stamped number "30." Preprinted at several locations on the reverse is the brand name "VELOX" referring to Kodak paper. With some light discoloration and surface soiling, the overall condition is good. Number-Units: 1
