Description

Color: Black; White A black and white reproduction photograph of a portrait of John H. Temple, ca. 1875. The original was housed within an oval matting, the outline of which is clear. Temple is shown in an upper torso view, wearing a dark-colored jacket, white shirt, and light-colored cravat. It appears there is a rope of some kind around his neck, perhaps for some academic reason as he would have been in high school until his graduation in 1874, after which he attended a commercial college for two years. From appearances, it is likely that he was of the age to be at the latter when this image was taken. With little indication of wear or damage, the object is in good condition. Number-Units: 1
