JOHN WALLIS WITH DRAWINGS FOR LA CASA NUEVA WINDOW REPLICATION
Color: Brown
A copy of a color polaroid photograph of John Wallis with drawings for La Casa Nueva stained glass window reproductions, 11 April 1980. The charcoal drawings are attached to a brown wood or laminate wall in Wallis' studio. From left to right they are: Agnes Temple, Thomas Temple, and the authors John Milton; Henry Wadsworth Longfellow; Miguel Cervantes; and William Shakespeare. There is a fourth set at the far right, but it cannot be seen behind Mr. Wallis, who stands next to the authors section with a red pencil in his right hand at the Shakespeare image, which has its decorative box surrounding the portrait. The other authors portraits do not have the surrounding box and are still in process of being done. The images of Agnes and Thomas Temple, however, appear to be complete. On the reverse in black ink is the inscription "Temple Mansion / Black and White "working draw- / ings" of stained glass / window replication in / John Wallis' studio / (artist on right) / photo by archt 4-11-80." Below this, covered by a piece of tape, is the stamp of restoration architect Raymond Girvigian with his name, address, and telephone number. There are some ink stains on the lower part of the image; otherwise there is little indication of wear and damage and the artifact is in good condition.
