JOIST AND RIB DAMAGE FROM WATER TOWER UPPER DECK
Color: Brown
A color polaroid photograph of deteriorated flooring joists and ribs from the upper deck of the Water Tower, 5 April 1977. Taken for documentation of the site restoration, the image shows one edge of the deck with the joists and ribs exposed. Slivers of wood are throughout and there appears to be several areas, especially toward the top of the image where termite damage was severe. At left is a catwalk and some of the metal supports from scaffolding. It cannot be determined, however, which end of the tower this is. At the bottom of the image is an inscription in pencil reading "Watch Tower Joists / exposed a lot of Termite / Dry Rot & Water Damage." With little indication of wear or damage, the artifact is in good condition.
