"K & D of T, June 21st 1914, L. A., Cal.," by Northern Photo Company, San Pedro St., Los Angeles. The image shows about seventy black women and one black man posed in front of a Romanesque-style building, perhaps a church. The women wear costumes that include such items as white gloves, crowns, sashes, medals, staffs, and other regalia. The man wears a three-piece darfk suit and what looks like a uniform cap. On the ground in front of the group is a symbolic item with an inscription that is "New Beulah / Tabernacle/ AD 43." While the matte has corner losses and edge wear, the image is basically clean and the condition is good.Lexicon
