Description

Color: Blue; Purple; Yellow A catalog issued by the Kalamazoo Stove Company, 1920s. The 88-page paper artifact has a brightly-colored front cover with a blue, pink, and yellow sky with a sun on the horizon. A woman holding a cake stands behind a company stove with a factory in the background under the sun. A purple field is under the stove, while a spectrum of colors below this flanks a black box with the company motto within it. On the back cover is an advertisement for a company heat circulator. The inside front cover has four stoves advertised and in different colors. The first pages feature a message from the company president; a description of the company and its low-price offerings; information to retailers; material on product guarantees; a section on shipment and installment payment; and testimonials from satisfied customers. At page 25 is a description of the manufacturing process at the factory. Product listings begin on page 12 and include color or black and white drawings, lengthy descriptions, specifications, and prices. Products include heaters of various kinds and a full line of coal-burning ranges. More testimonials from customers are on page 53 and replacement parts are offered on the following two pages. On page 56, listings resume with gas, electric and oil ranges. From page 61 is information on forced air heating systems, installation of these systems, followed by listings of the products and accessories and parts. At the back is a two-page order blank with the inside back cover an advertisement of a gas range. The pages are fine, though the cover has some creases, surface soiling and a vertical half-fold, but the document is good.
