"Karastan Rugs: With the Atmosphere of the Orient," issued by L. S. Ayres & Co., 1929. The 30-page catalog has a white paper cover with a color drawing at the front of two men at the bottom left. One is on a camel and the other at the front of the animal, by two palm trees. Across the background is the exterior of an Arabian marketplace. Many people walk towards the structure and through the large arched entrance which is at the center. Above this is a cloud and a red rug with blue and gold designs against a dark blue background. At the top left corner in light blue is the word, "KARASTAN." On the back is an ad for the rugs with a color drawing of the inside of an Arabian marketplace and the name of the manufacturer across the bottom. At the beginning of the inside is a title page and an introduction. There are a variety of rugs available for sale with names like Adrebil, Kirman, Kashan, Feraghan, and much more. Each rug listing includes a detailed explanation about the item's background, composition, and construction. Also included are the sizes and a color drawing of each rug. With abrasions, creases, tears, and stains from surface soiling, the object is in poor condition.Lexicon
