"KIT CARSON: THE PIONEER OF THE WEST," John S.C. Abbott (New York: Dodd, Mead & Company, Publishers,) 1873. The work, "Christopher Carson : familiarly known as Kit Carson" mainly concerns Carson's life through the Mexican-American War, but there is also a section of the travels of William Goodyear, including brief mention of a visit to the Los Angeles area in 1854 and vineyards noticed on the way to San Bernardino. The covers have stains, adhesive residue, edge and corner wear, and soiling, but the pages are generally clean and tight, so the overall condition is good.Lexicon
