Description
Knowles, Taylor & Knowles, small bowl with handles, ca. 1900-1920s. The small bowl features a floral design of pink roses, and green leaves set against a black band encircling the edge and a gold lining on the interior near the edge as well as gold colored handles. Underneath the dish is a manufacturer's initials of "KT&K/S___V/CHINA/P.F.E." The initials indicate that the dish is semi-vitreous which means it is a type of ceramic made of material that is an ironstone and porcelain. It is considered china dinnerware but it is not fine china, nor entirely a true porcelain. KT&K is was considered one of the largest American manufacturers of china, other dinnerware and goods between 1850-1930s. With crazing found throughout, yellowish, gray discoloration , and a scratch on the bottom of the base, it is still in good condition overall.
