L.B.S.M. TO FATHER JOSE HIME, 1846Entry/Object ID
96.34.1.59Description
A letter, signed in initials by L.B.S.M. to a Father Jose, from Santa Barbara on 10 October 1846. The letter is in Spanish and, because of the writing, the message is not known to the cataloger, but a sum of money transacted appears to be the focus. Mentioned is Nicholas Den and a Mrs. Thornton. The back of the letter was used as the envelope, addressed to Jose Hime, Rector. There is also some writing with dates and numbers and remnants of a red seal on this back portion. The letter is in poor condition with a portion neatly cut out of the front section and another section torn or cut from the back, as well as torn edges, numerous creases, and many stains. From the Thomas W. Temple II Collection. Donated by Ruth Ann Michaelis.Lexicon
