LA CASA NUEVA BASEMENT STRIPS BEFORE RESTORATION
Color: Brown
A color polaroid photograph of the La Casa Nueva basement stairs before restoration, 21 September 1979. The focus is on the bottom steps, but whether the adobe brick is worn and much dust has formed or whether the photograph is cloudy is not clear. The bricks on the second step from the bottom however are loose with the mortared grout missing. There is no indication, however, of what restoration work was to be done. At the left is a small portion of the wainscot and other sections of the wall at the east of the stairs. At the bottom of the artifact is a penciled inscription which reads "Basement Stairs Before / Restoration 9/21/79." With little indication of wear or damage, the object is in good condition.
