Description

Color: Black; White A negative of the La Casa Nueva building site, ca. 1924-25. The home is in the center of the image from the northeast, surrounded by several trees around its perimeter and two palm trees in the front. Across the front wall is scaffolding which reaches to the second floor. Windows and doors appear to be in place as well as the carved plaster design around the front entrance. Landings for the balconies on the second floor are in place, except for the guard for the master bedroom and iron gate in front of the foyer door. A hip roof with red tile shingles caps the structure which has a chimney on the left side. On the left can be seen the top portion of the open patio area with a portion of the Mission Walkway below. In the left foreground is a planter area surrounded by wire fencing; inside is grass and a few small trees. To the center and right is the dirt driveway leading to the east and north of the home. The western portion of the Mission Walkway, with bare arbor rafters, is in the right background. There is some damage to the edges, but not affecting the image, and the condition is good.
