LA CASA NUEVA CONSTRUCTION FROM CENTER DRIVEWAY
Color: Black; White
A black and white negative of La Casa Nueva's construction from the center driveway, ca. 1924. The view is from where the drive meets Evergreen Lane and shows the unplastered walls of the house, the roof with plywood sheeting but no tiles, window, door, and vent openings and the lower section of the Mission Walkway main wall partially completed. In the foreground left is construction debris and some adobe bricks stacked. At the right are palm and evergreen trees in the planter between the drive and the Mission Walkway. Power lines run along the photo to a pole at the far right near the house. At the lower right of the image is part of the wire fence next to the Pump House. Aside from darkening on the edges, not affecting the image, there is no wear or damage and the artifact is in good condition.
