Description

LA CASA NUEVA COURTAYRD FROM THE SOUTH AND WEST Color: Black; White A negative of the La Casa Nueva courtyard, ca. 1927. Construction of the fountain is in progress, with the base finished, but no millstones set. The rail of the balcony needs a finish paint coat and landscaping has begun with some banana palms behind the fountain and a few bushes and shrubs, though the planter at center is still being erected and there are two others at the left and right edges. Some items, such as chairs, benches, swing, plants and stands, and a birdcage are in the porticos. A few trees are at center and construction materials are lying on the ground. The photographer stood in the Mission Walkway, of which two grapevines and some leaves are notable in the foreground. Other than non-intrusive darkened areas at the top and bottom edges, there is no wear and damage and the artifact is in good condition. Number-Units: 1
