Description

LA CASA NUEVA COURTAYRD FROM THE SOUTH AND WEST Color: Black; White A negative of the La Casa Nueva courtyard, ca. 1928. Construction of the structure appears to be completed and the view shows the south side of the main roof, including solar panels; the Library fireplace chimney; some of the east side of the east wing second floor patio and first floor portico, including a swing outside of Mrs. Bassity's bedroom; much of the same elements on the east side, though with a birdcage and other small items outside Walter Sr.'s Bedroom; the fountain; the adobe planter in the lawn just south of the courtyard; banana palms, bushes, small trees and other landscaping, and, in the foreground, some grapevines from the Mission Walkway, where the photographer stood. Other than non-intrusive, or minimally intrusive, darkened areas at the top and bottom edges, there is no wear and damage and the artifact is in good condition. Number-Units: 1
