Description

LA CASA NUEVA COURTYARD BALCONY BEAM REPLACEMENT Color: Brown A color polaroid photograph of the replacement of the beam at the center of the La Casa Nueva Courtyard balcony, 28 February 1979. The beam extends from the wall several feet and the dog's head has been repaired. There is still, however, a section of the beam at the top that needs to be replaced. Standing on the first floor under the portico, the photographer also captured the beam to the east, which had been replaced with a new piece of wood, though the animal figure was not installed. In the background is part of the upper west wing with the tile roofing, windows and white plaster wall. To the right is part of the balcony wall. At left is some of the New Zealand flame tree planted in the courtyard. At the top of the image is some of the roof covering of the portico in which the photographer stands. A green ink inscription at the bottom of the object reads "Repaired dogshead in place / 2/28/79." With little indication of wear or damage, the image is in good condition. Number-Units: 1
