Description

Color: Black; White A negative of the east portico of the La Casa Nueva courtyard from the end of the portico at the south, ca. 1928. The view shows the section from Walter Sr.'s Bedroom to the end of the portico at the Dining Room. Notable features are the chairs with sarapes and Indian-style pillows on them; potted plants on stands or on the ground; a birdcage; what appears to be part of a harness on the beam closest to the photographer; a religious plaque over the door to Walter Sr.'s Bathroom; what seems to be another plaque over the adjacent hallway window; yet another plaque over the Kitchen windows; two lamp sconces on the wall by the Kitchen and Dining Room; the tile baseboard; and the flagstone walk. There may be some damage to the negative at the top and there are some non-intrusive darkened areas at the left and right edges, but the overall condition of the artifact is good. Number-Units: 1
