Description

LA CASA NUEVA COURTYARD FROM THE MISSION WALKWAY GRAPE ARBOR, CA. 1927. A black and white reproduction photograph of the La Casa Nueva courtyard as seen from the top of the grape arbor in the Mission Walkway, ca. 1927. The home is finished and landscaping is throughout, including small shrubs south of the fountain and large banana palms north of it. Grass is planted at the lower part of the photo and a small tree seen there. The fountain has a grinding bowl and pestle, gourds, and other items sitting on the mill stones. A woman, possibly Maude Bassity, is seen walking towards the east portico. There appears to be a hole in the wall above the west portico near the roof line. From a negative of Ruth Ann Michaelis.
