LA CASA NUEVA COURTYARD FROM THE SOUTH AND WEST
Color: Black; White
A negative of the La Casa Nueva courtyard, ca. 1932. The date is derived from the existence of the enclosures on the second floor wings, which were completed after the Temples leased the house to a military academy. Notable in the image, as well, is the fountain, the dense landscaping around the fountain area, several trees in the viciinty, the adobe walkway leading from the east portico toward the Tepee, and the adobe planter at the center right. It also appears that the solar panels are on the main block section of the roof. The photographer stood on the grass near the Mission Walkway and where the existing carob tree stands. Aside from darkening on the edges, which may have intruded slightly on the image, the overall condition of the object is good.
