Description

Color: Black; White A black and white negative of the La Casa Nueva dedication to Laura G. Temple, 28 December 1923. A group of people are in the center and left of the image. Among the group, and standing at center, is Bishop John. J. Cantwell, and performing the ceremony. There is an altar boy to the left. Walter P. Temple is standing with sons Walter Jr. and Edgar on the right towards the back of the group. Walter Temple is wearing a dark suit and both boys wear white shirts, vests, and knickers. Everyone in the group is facing away from the camera towards the home seen on the left. The home, which was in the beginning stages of construction, has plain adobe walls and the window sills for the Music and Music Practice rooms, as well as Thomas' bedroom are all on the right. To the left are also the arched openings for the front doorway and windows located at either side. On the right hand side of the doorway is a plaque, later moved to the northeast corner, which dedicates the home in memory of Laura G. Temple on the one-year anniversary of her passing. The image is in good condition. Number-Units: 1
