LA CASA NUEVA DINING ROOM DOORS TO THE MAIN HALL
Color: Black; White
A black and white photograph of the Living Room doors to the Main Hall in La Casa Nueva from inside the Dining Room, ca. 1940. The doors, which were late stolen and replaced by reproductions, feature different carvings than the reproductions, including diamond-shaped panels with what appear to be floral patterns at the top and square panels with the Workman cattle brand in a shield at the bottom. The hinges, having the angels with folded arms that the modern doors do, have thicker pins with four bands. Next to the doors at the left is a dining or sitting chair with curved arms; a lyre-shaped back; spindled legs; and a curved seat with a cross-pattern lined fabric seating. A runner is at the foot of the door and part of it is visible at lower right. Though the pattern is not easily discernible, it appears to have a Persian look to it and the major field is a light color, while the border has a black background. On the back lower left corner is the stamped number "42." Aside from a small crease at the upper left corner, all four corners mildly dented, and very light discoloration, the artifact is in good condition.
