LA CASA NUEVA FROM INSIDE THE SOUTHEAST MISSION WALKWAY GATEWAY
Color: Black; White
A black and white photograph of La Casa Nueva from inside the southeastern Mission Walkway gateway, ca. 1941-42. The photographer stood close to the gate [note the column and wood support for the Mission Walkway on the far right. The flagstone sidewalk, bordered by hedges, leads to the home with the south end of the east wing at the center [note the window at the end of the second-floor dormitory.] Part of the west wing is off to the left, including part of the portico and the east facing side of the second floor dormitory. Part of the landscaping, including two adobe planters with flowers in them, bushes, shrubs, small trees, and a lawn, at left, are notable. This image is identical with item .112, except that it is a slightly darker exposure. On the reverse upper right is the penciled inscription "#5", while a number "6", also in pencil, is at the center. Other than very light soiling and discoloration, the image is in good condition.
