Description

Color: Black; White A negative of La Casa Nueva's front door, ca. 1925. The screen door is at the center of the bottom. The frame is wood with five-pointed stars and six-sided geometrical shapes throughout the its center. Around the door is a plaster design of columns with wheat, grapes and vines. At the center of the top of this is the Spanish royal crest flanked by eagles and topped by a crown. Part of the balcony over the front door is at the center of the top. Two small arched windows flank the front door. The top of the wood arch is carved while the glass appears to be covered by a shutter or plank. Over each window is a small round hole with wires for the iron light fixtures which had yet to be installed. Part of the porch's flagstone walkway is at the center of the bottom with much debris scattered throughout. Part of the porch walls are at the left and right as well as their grape and vine designs, which appear to be multi-colored. A print developed from this negative is 2000.272.1.5. The artifact is in good condition with no signs of wear or damage, except for the left edge, which has almost no effect on the image. Number-Units: 1
