LA CASA NUEVA FRONT ELEVATION FROM THE NORTHEAST
Color: Black; White
A black and white photograph and copy of the front elevation of La Casa Nueva from the northeast, ca. 1941-42. The photographer stands on the lawn toward the northeast corner of the grounds. Most of the north side of the house is visible, including the front door and plaster surround; the lamp sconces that flank it, the second-floor balcony over the door, a portion of the north side of the master bedroom balcony, at upper left, and window and door openings. Landscaping around the house includes bushes and shrubs next to the house and along the patio wall, trees, such as two cypresses and a cactus-like tree. At the lower edge and right corner is the lawn; a portion of an above planter; and part of the walkway leading to the house from the north driveway, including flanking rose bushes. On the reverse upper left corner is a penciled inscription by a former museum curator reading "source - Bob Brown"; at the upper right corner is, also in pencil, "95% / 2A / Terri"; at the bottom left in pencil is "11x14 sepia" and next to this toward the right in black ink is "+32-135 / 34-170." There is a significant crease in the upper left corner and some stains and surface soiling on the reverse, so the object is in fair condition.
