Description

Color: Black; White A black and white photograph of the front door of La Casa Nueva as seen from the walkway to the north, ca. 1940. The photographer stood next to the palm tree and caught all, but a small part of the plaster surround on the left. A fair amount of deatil in the plaster work is visible, as is the screen door. One side window, though the glass is obscured, and the sconce over it, is at the right. Above the door is the lower portion of the balcony. Toward the foregound is part of the flagstone patio, though the low wall is hidden by bushes and shrubs, while immediately in front of the photographer is a portion of the brick walkway. Branches from a bush or small tree are immediately in the foreground at right, while part of a cypress tree, next to the house, is at the upper far right. On the reverse center is the penciled number "8." Aside from some very light discoloration, the object is in good condition. Number-Units: 1
