Description

LA CASA NUEVA LIBRARY EAST BOOKCASE BEFORE RESTORATION Color: Brown A color polaroid photograph of the La Casa Nueva Library east bookcase before restoration, 29 November [1979.] The photographer stood directly in front of the case and the two side doors are wide open and books indiscriminately piled upon the three shelves. Other than heavy dust on the shelf below the upper shelves, there doesn't appear to be much obvious damage, other than wear to the paint and the carvings seem to be in good condition. At the bottom is a portion of the floor, with some of the wood exposed under what may be a dark-colored tarp or cover. Part of the white wall is around the bookcase, but there are little notable features other than the bookcase. A pencil inscription at the bottom of the artifact reads "Nov. 29, Pedro Cleaning These / For Painter." In good condition, the object shows little indication of wear or damage. Number-Units: 1
