Color: Black; White
A black and white photograph of the La Casa Nueva living room, ca. 1981. Taken from the west side of the room, the image shows the recently restored room with the furniture arrangement of the time. At the left is the fireplace with screen; tool set; and fire box in front or next to it. On the mantel above are two elephant statuettes and over the mantel is a gold framed mirror. In front of the fireplace toward the center of the room is a large green mohair sofa with a small table next to it with a vase of flowers on top. Between the sofa and fireplace is a coffee table. A sidechair is also near the sofa and fireplace. Across from this chair is another chair with a footrest on front, a magazine on the footrest and a floorlamp next to the chair. At the east end of the room from left to right are two French doors, a square one at the north side and a rounded set of doors at the east. The two side windows on the east wall are open. Furnishings there include two tall "crown" lamps and a side chair matching the one near the fireplace. At the far right is a writing desk and chair, another side chair, and a framed painting. The number "786" is visible at the lower right and is also on a label on the lower left reverse. With little indication of wear or damage, the image is in good condition.
