Color: Black; White
A black and white negative of the palm tree planting on the east side of La Casa Nueva, ca. 1925. Appearing in the center of the image leaning back and being hoisted up by a pulley and tackles, is the tree. A man on the top center of the apparatus has both hands on the pulley's chains, while two other men support the tackle's wood frame on the bottom left and right. The man on the right is Frank Romero and has a man in overalls is standing next to him to the left, and two more men by a section of the Mission Walkway on the far right. On the left is the west side of La Casa Nueva with a portion of the red-shingled roof above, and the windows of the breakfast room below. To the far left is the opened screen door leading to the Butler's Pantry which appears to be obstructed by a work horse and several wood beams. A dirt mound is to the right foreground, and a flat-bed truck, facing away from the scene, is in the background center. With no signs of wear, the image is in good condition.
