Description

LA CASA NUEVA TEPEE CONSTRUCTION, FROM THE SOUTHEAST, 1927 Color: Black; White A negative of the La Casa Nueva Tepee under construction, ca. 1927, taken from the Mission Walkway to the southeast and showing the adobe walls, window casings, front patio wall, and a slight view of the West Lawn area at the right. Of note are the unplastered walls, the wood scaffolding visible through the doorway was used by workers to lay adobe bricks from the inside; the north end of the low patio wall; some of the adobe walkway leading toward the photographer; piles of dirt and debris at the lower right; a small section of the West Lawn and Mission Walkway at the right; and one tree, possibly an extant sycamore next to the Tepee at the right. Near this is the end of a beam protruding from a window or skylight on the north side of the structure. Aside from non-intrusive darkening at the top and bottom edge, there seems ot be little or no wear or damage and the condition of the artifact is good. Number-Units: 1
