Description
LA CASA NUEVA VAULT DOOR PRIOR TO RESTORATION, 1978
Color: Black; White
A black and white photograph of the vault door in the La Casa Nueva basement, 1978. The door is at center with posts looking like fluted columns on the left and right. There are stylized leaf designs at the tops of the columns. Across the top is a partial sloping cornice and an iron pipe below. A frame with stylized leaves on the corners is painted around the door. Within this is a square with shell patterns along each side, and stylized flowers and leaves on the top and bottom. Near the middle left is the combination cylinder with the long door knob to the far left. A scale is placed just above the door knob. A stamp on the back right provides the name and business information of Raymond Girvigian, the restoration architect. With no signs of wear, the image, which has a corresponding negative in 99.6.8.195, is in good condition.
