Description

LA CASA NUEVA VAULT DOORS PRIOR TO RESTORATION Color: Black; White A black and white photograph of the interior double doors of the vault in the La Casa Nueva Basement, by Jeff Tyler, ca. January 1979. The main door is open and a portion of it is on the right, while one of the columns on the outer frame is at left. The interior doors are closed and a scale indicator is on the upper left panel of the left door--each door having upper and lower panels, between which, at center, are the two handles. The doors, like the outside door and frame, are painted white, but were painted black with gold detailing in restoration. Upside down on the reverse bottom is a black ink inscription by restoration architect Raymond Girvigian reading "R-9, #6 [writing under this was covered over by correction tape] / Scale: 1" - 1'-0" / Jeff Tyler photo / Taken about Jan. 1979 / TEMPLE MANSION / INNER VAULT DOORS / (BEFORE RESTORATION)." To the right of this is the stamp of Girvigian, with his name, address and telephone number. With little indication of wear or damage, aside from some smeared ink on the reverse, the artifact is in good condition. Number-Units: 1
