Description

LA CASA NUEVA VIEWED FROM THE FIELD TO THE WEST, CA. 1926 Color: Black; White A negative of La Casa Nueva viewed from the field to the west, ca. 1926. Taken just west and south of the house, only the upper portion of the main roof and second floor west patio are visible above the west side of the Mission Walkway, which seems to have a full growth of grapes on it. At the far right is the upper section of the Water Tower, but there is no sign of the Tepee, which was built in 1927. A palm at the front and two others near the Tepee site, as well as some smaller palms on the driveway just this side of the Mission Walkway are notable. In the field, there are a few trees, though most of it is bare. Aside from some darkening on the edges, only slightly affecting the bottom of the image, the artifact is in good condition.
