Description

LA CASA NUEVA WEST ELEVATION FROM THE WEST LAWN AREA Color: Black; White A negative of the west elevation of La Casa Nueva, ca. 1928. The view is from the southwestern section of the lawn and shows the house in completed condition. Notable are the window and French door screens and doors, the tile roof and top of the Library chimney, the west side of the second floor wing patio, including what appears to be a covered swing, potted plants, and a hose line up the wall and some of the landscaping near the house. At the far left are four pillars, unfinished, for the arbor that led from the Music Room to the West Lawn. Also of interest are two of the round adobe planters with plantings in them. There are three wooden poles, perhaps for tree support in the planter bed next to the wing section of the house. There is some darkening at the top edge, which does not intrude onto the image, so the overall condition is good. Number-Units: 1
