LA GRANDE STATION, SANTA FE RAILROAD DEPOT, LOS ANGELES, CA. 1910
Color: Black; Blue; Green; Red; White
A colored photo postcard of the La Grande Station, Santa Fe Railroad Depot, Los Angeles, ca. 1910. The view is taken from Alameda Street which is in the foreground and shows a portion of the long Romanesque strucutre, with its distinctive dome over the center. A long covered portico extends to the street, while the platforms extend north and south from the terminal. Crowds of persons are outside the building, mainly at the right and there are a dozen or more horse-drawn wagons parked along the side of the street. At the bottom is the caption "1182 - LA GRANDE STATION, SANTA FE DEPOT, LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA." The reverse of the unused card has space on the left for a message and on the right for an address. At the top is the word "POST CARD", while at the upper right is a box for the stamp. At the far left is "PRINTED IN THE UNITED STATES" and the publisher's name and business location is at the lower left. With surface soiling, stains, especially at the upper right of the back and top left of the front, dented corners, and creases, the overall condition is fair.Lexicon
