Description

Lampshade: Beige eight-sided 1920s silk shade with silver metal trim and beige fringe. Shade was constructed over an eight-sided metal frame, wrapped with cotton tape. Each of the eight panels has two parts. The top part is made of gathered silk crepe. Together they make up the top of the shade. The bottom part has either one of two alternating styles: stretched silk with colored embroidery floss designs or a gathered "sunrise" design of silk crepe. Together they make up the sides of the shade. Bottom of the shade has scalloped edges. Panels are outlined and trimmed with silver passement. Lampshade also has a seven inch fringe (probably rayon) around the bottom. Shade has been fully lined with gold nylon fabric. Lining and fringe are not original. Frame is wrapped with two different colors of cotton tape (one probably original, one not). Passement is tarnished. Silk needs cleaning but still intact. Overall physical condition and appearance is good.
