"LAND TITLES: FIRST COURSE OF LECTURES ON LAND TITLES"
Color: Black; White
"Land Titles: First Course of Lectures on Land Titles," by E. L. Farmer (Los Angeles: California Land Title Association,) 1929. Printed by the Neuner Corporation of Los Angeles, the 279-page softcover book has the title and publisher's name at the top of the front cover in white lettering. Farmer was Vice-President of Title Insurance and Trust Company of Los Angeles and his lectures are divided into twnety-six sections covering such areas of land titles as title insurance; titles; deeds; mortgages; trust deeds; homesteads; corporations; partnership; powers of attorney; leasing and renting; taxes and assessments; conveyancing; contracts; attachments; judgments; bankruptcy; mechanic's liens; alien land laws; corporation license and franchise taxes; and escrows. Tipped in at two locations, evidently as place markers, are three clippings from a letter to a former owner, from some date after 1939. These clippings were not deemed necessary for cataloging, but will be kept in the accession file. A pen inscription of a former owner is on the frontispiece and copyright information was stamped on the title page. With cover abrasions or rubbing, creases, corner dents, soiling, lettering fading, and tears; yellowing and some finger stains on pages; and a loose binding, the overall condition is fair.Lexicon
