Description

LAWN TO THE SOUTH OF LA CASA NUEVA'S COURTYARD Color: Black; White A negative of the lawn to the south of the La Casa Nueva courtyard from the west, ca. 1928. At left are the ends of the house's wings, showing some windows and doors, the overhaning tiled roof and the south end of the second floor east wing patio. In the foreground and, at right, is a row of four adobe planters with shrubs in them. At the far right there is some trenching, presumably for sprinklers. At the background is some of the eastern section of the Mission Walkway with profuse grape vines on the trellis. The lower part of the trunk of the historic San Gabriel palm tree is right of center near the end of the east wing. With some non-intrusive darkening to the top and bottom edges, there is otherwise no damage or wear and the artifact is in good condition. Number-Units: 1
